No More Hearings, Just Cozy Living | Introducing The Archive Apartments
We’re excited to share one of our latest projects, the Archive Apartments. Located in heart of Council Bluffs, Iowa, this stunning transformation of the former Federal Courthouse Building and Post Office is a prime example of adaptive reuse and historic renovation. Working alongside the talented teams from Alley Poyner Architects and Arch Icon, we had the privilege of sourcing the furniture for the leasing office and amenity spaces. We wanted the furniture to not only enhance the building's historic character but also support the needs of modern apartment living. Below we highlighted a few of our favorites from this project that we felt really brought the two together.
When you first walk into the Archive Apartments, you're greeted by the Gus Modern Towne Sofa in Velvet Russet, which can be found in both the main lobby and the first floor community space. This sofa offers a modern, luxurious feel while complementing the building’s historic architecture and plays well with the flooring throughout. We loved pairing the Towne Sofa with the stunning Blu Dot SidebySide Dining Chair in Loden Green Velvet. The deep green velvet brings a touch of sophistication and pairs perfectly with the Strut Wood Dining Table, also from Blu Dot. Found in the first-floor community space, this combination creates a refined yet comfortable setting for residents to gather and socialize.
For the private phone rooms off the community space and next to the private meeting room, we selected the Blu Dot Daily Task Chair in Maharam Candor Flare. The bold yellow color adds a pop of energy while maintaining an ergonomic and functional design, perfect for work or personal calls in a quiet space.
In the private meeting room, we wanted to create an atmosphere that combined style with productivity. The Four Hands Kelby Dining Table serves as a striking focal point, surrounded by the Four Hands Tyler Desk Chairs in Modern Velvet Loden.
The Augustine Sofa in Sapphire Navy from Four Hands can be found in the courtroom amenity space, a multifunctional area designed for both work and play. Paired with a pool table and shuffleboard, this sofa adds a touch of luxe to the space while maintaining a modern and approachable feel.
The Archive Apartments beautifully blend the past with the present. With carefully selected furniture from Blu Dot, Gus Modern, and Four Hands, we helped bring the vision to life, creating functional, stylish spaces where residents can truly feel at home.
It’s been a pleasure working on this project, and we’re proud to have contributed to such an important piece of Council Bluffs' history.
Whether you need to “stamp” your project with style or “sentence” your space to sleek designs, we’re here to help you hit the mark.
