The Dock & The Ashton is a mixed use adaptive reuse project envisioned and designed by Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture for Millwork Commons, transforming historic industrial spaces into vibrant public and commercial environments. The design celebrates the building’s heritage through a layered palette of warm neutrals, deep accent tones and natural finishes, creating depth and cohesion throughout. Thoughtful detailing and intentional material transitions guide the narrative from one area to the next, reinforcing a cohesive identity that honors the site’s legacy while supporting contemporary use.
Tables and chairs throughout The Dock’s public event spaces and The Ashton’s commercial interiors were carefully selected to complement the architectural vision while supporting daily function and social interaction. Each setting balances scale, comfort and durability, ensuring high-use spaces feel purposeful and welcoming. Hutch Contract partnered closely with Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture to bring the design vision to life, sourcing and procuring tables and seating that align seamlessly with the design intent, helping unify adaptive reuse with practical, functional design throughout The Dock and The Ashton.
