Norra Apartments
Wayzata, MN
Norra is a multifamily community in Wayzata, Minnesota, envisioned and designed by ESG Architecture & Design for Marco McLane Development and Mithun Companies. Inspired by the character of its lakeside surroundings, the design brings a relaxed, residential sensibility to elevated amenity spaces through natural materials, warm wood tones, soft neutrals, and earthy accents. Layered upholstery, woven textures, and tactile finishes add warmth and depth, while the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces reinforces the easygoing feeling carried throughout the property. The clubroom is a standout expression of the design, bringing together comfortable furnishings, natural textures, and a welcoming palette to create a space that feels equally suited to gathering or settling in. Custom lobby poufs add another layer of personality and texture, while a speakeasy-inspired pub tucked into the lower level offers an unexpected moment at the end of the resident experience.
Furnishings throughout the lobby, clubroom, coworking areas, dining and gathering spaces, fitness areas, and outdoor amenities were selected to support the range of experiences envisioned by ESG, from casual everyday use to entertaining and social connection. Each furniture grouping contributes to the overall sense of relaxed sophistication: varied seating, natural finishes, and design proportions help define the character of each environment. Hutch Contract partnered closely with ESG Architecture & Design to bring the vision to life, sourcing and procuring furnishings that translate the project's color, material, and texture story into functional spaces designed for daily living. The result is a community that feels connected to its Wayzata setting while offering a refined, comfortable experience that invites residents to slow down, gather and stay awhile.
