The James | Behind the Scenes

The James is a charming, luxury housing located in Kirkwood, MO, designed by ESG Architecture and Design. Hutch partnered with ESG on this project, alongside Trammell Crow, to select and procure furniture that fit the modern, industrial and elegant inspiration behind the design. This project boasts furniture from several different brand relationships Hutch has cultivated over the years, providing a boutique feel to the overall design.interior design mood boardThis property is full of meaningful spaces that are a reflection of Kirkwood's culture and history. The lobby is a combination of historical charm with modern details. Curved wood paneling lines the back wall, which curves into custom booth seating beneath a striking, modern wrought iron motif. The booth seating is a deep blue leather, complete with two antique brass bistro tables.lobby interior designIn the center of the lobby is a stunning, round mixed-media bar with antique brass sides and a marble top. Seated at the table are three custom dining chairs with a rattan back and neutral gray seat cushions. Along the opposite wall full of windows sits four custom upholstered lounge chairs, custom blue and cream geometric rugs, two acacia side tables and two parawood coffee tables. lounge chairs coffee tablesOn the second floor of this project is a gorgeous co-working space. At the center of the space sits a custom charcoal wood dining table and matching curved back dining chairs, sitting atop a stunning custom, scalloped geometric area rug. To the left of the dining table is custom built-in booth seating, and on the right are three built-in private study rooms.co-working space interior designcustom built-in booth seatingprivate study roomThere is a gorgeous set of floating shelves that act as a partition to an additional lounge and conference area, complete with a burgundy marble dining table and four brown leather dining chairs.conference room dining table and chairsThrough the co-working space, you enter the clubroom on the same floor. The first half of the room is a viewing lounge, complete with a large custom ochre velvet sectional, a round beachwood coffee table and two custom boucle lounge chairs. Behind the sectional are four custom ottomans and two console tables for additional seating. On the main wall is a gorgeous, blue built-in entertainment center and shelves.viewing lounge interior designOn the other side of the clubroom, there is a game room complete with a pool table, shuffleboard table, chessboard, bistro tables and dining chairs.game room interior designWe also had the pleasure of procuring furniture for the Scottish Pub speakeasy. Built-in shelving conceals a secret door, which opens to a floor of mosaic tile, a custom oak dining table with a smoked glass top with four velvet dining chairs and a full-service bar.speakeasy secret doorspeakeasy interior designThe pool deck is the last space in the project. One large swimming pool with in-pool lounge chairs is at the center of the space. Behind the pool lounge chairs sits a stunning iron gazebo, complete with two large outdoor sectionals, dining tables and two wicker lounge chairs. On either side of the pool are rows of additional sun loungers and umbrellas. pool deck interior designpool deck gazebo interior designsun lounge chairs and umbrellas
